Digital infrastructure has been one of the main priorities to be developed by Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo). In relation to the infrastructure, 5G network connections will also be developed widely across the nation.
It is hoped that in 2022 most areas of Indonesia will be able to enjoy the 5G network connectivity. A massive increase of network providers from only the big 3 (Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL) in 2021 to more is also expected to be happening. This massive development is predicted based on more global trends such as AR and more improved, advanced methods of 5G connectivity implementation.
It is also hoped that the availability of 5G connectivity will not only be related to one or two industries but to more industry sectors (enterprise services, video on demand, internet of things, cyber security, big data digital advertising, and digital entertainment).
5G connectivity that’s equally spread is very crucial towards a better advancement of Indonesia’s digital mission. It is hoped that from 2022 to 2025 onwards most industries are able to adopt 5G in their functions. Not only to industries, but it is also hoped that the same will happen to individuals and the government as well.
