Indonesia to Digital Skills Training

The pandemic as well as the continuous advancements of technology has made Indonesia and the rest of the world become more aware of the need for digital skills. The training is desperately needed in order to increase the development of the skills as well as more effective & efficient technology-based activities.

To help accommodate this, ILO (International Labour Organization) with Skilvul (a digital skills training provider), conducted a series of e-courses for selected instructors of the Public Vocational Training Center (BLK/BBPLK). The e-courses were held last 15 March to 17 June this year. The plan/program was proven to be quite effective as the participants have become more aware of the updated, tech-savvy teaching methods and are implementing them in their day-to-day work (as teachers in various schools).

Not stopping there, ILO also has joined a partnership with one of Indonesia’s neighboring countries, Australia in order to strengthen both countries’ digital skills and technical vocational education and training (TVET). Both parties organized a seminar to identify the suitable ICT skills development models for Indonesia & help the Indonesian TVET institute adjust its system to meet the requirements of today’s digital transformation in the education sector. Since Australia has heavily invested in online education for past decades, this seminar hopefully is one of the most effective ways to deliver training & education. Other possible collaborations are in the discussion & hopefully will be implemented soon.
