In the digital era, with the increase in people investing in data protection apps, security suites for any potential viruses or just web browser blacklistings in general, there’s also without a doubt also been an increase in the amount of hackers and phishing scams. This is why it’s so important to learn to be able to protect your identity online! We’re here to teach the youth a few ways to do so!
1.Use Strong Passwords
Passwords are the key to protecting most of our social media, which is the reason you need to ensure that you’re using strong passwords. Also, we’re sure you don’t need to be reminded that passwords shouldn’t be advertised in the public. Need more tips on creating strong passwords? We made a post specifically for that! Check it out in our account.
2. Install Security Suites
These are apps or programs designated to protect you from any potential viruses, spyware or scams online. “Some of the popular security suites include Norton Antivirus, McAfee Virus Protection, Ad-Aware Pro Security, and AVG Internet Security.” Most people opt to pay for these programs to increase their security while doing work!
3.Keep your Personal Information Secure
Always make sure you’re only posting information you’re aware of posting online! Never post about things like your address, credit card information, school or work related information and others. Some people unknowingly post about these things online, so make sure to always double-check what you post!
