Do you know that Earth 2.0 exists? It’s not the twin in the other galaxy of the planet that we live in, instead, it’s actually a metaverse of a digital virtual environment that can be owned, bought, traded, and sold. Earth 2.0 is the 1:1 scale version of our beloved planet, Earth.
Earth 2.0 was launched back in late 2020 and has sold more virtual land than other projects ever. It’s built on top of the MapBox technology as well as 5CA and other partnerships. The technology is always improving to be able to provide a massive, realistic, real time rendered geolocated 3D environment.
People who want to own ownership in Earth 2.0 can purchase the virtual land in the form of tiles. Players simply only need to select any tile they want from the map in the ‘Buy Land’ menu then pay it with credit card right away or pre-topped up account balance. The game uses E$ as their currency which is the same as $ USD (E$1 = $1 USD). However, players need to create an account first before buying any tiles.
The game is created with a vision to bring people and technology together that also supports strong virtual communities and economies. It also believes that it can carve out the foundation for a more well-prepared virtual future as sci-fi metaverses are also more and more integrated to our non-virtual lives. Well, what do you think? Do you think Earth 2.0 is a great idea?
