Selangkah Menuju Merdeka Teknologi
A project consisting of four 90-minute sessions with over 120 students from Forum Anak Kalimantan Barat. Here we shared knowledge about digital literacy, etiquette, security, and safety.
In light of our strong passion towards raising a generation of digital learners, GenDigital Academy collaborated with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) to teach children in West Kalimantan about digitalization in order to achieve the fundamental goal of providing underprivileged children with digital literacy expertise. WVI and GenDigital wish to ignite the passion of West Kalimantan's children to learn more about the digital world, as well as teach them how to navigate it safely.
WVI and GenDigital are highly thoughtful about the topics they provide. One of the topics that GenDigital covered was digital security and safety rules to keep the children away from the famous cybercrimes. For the digital etiquette session, the main focus was how to be a “good” internet user. All in all, the 4 sessions are the first steps to becoming a literate digital user. They chose these topics because it covers the basic grounds of being a literate digital user.
The target audience for this event is children aged 12 to 18 in West Kalimantan. This activity takes 60-90 minutes through an online platform, Zoom. We started it off with a fun ice breaker: playing a costume related game from youtube. Then we proceeded with a broad overview of the topic.
This event went off without a hitch. All of the materials are well delivered. The knowledge gathered in this event made all of the children pleased. GenDigital hopes that the youngsters in West Kalimantan would be inspired to learn more about the digital world as a result of this event.
